Anthony Scaramucci Trolls Roger Stone After He Mocked His Recent Venture

Donald Trump’s former press secretary Anthony Scaramucci has exchanged jibes with political consultant Roger Stone in an online exchange between the pair.
It began when Scaramucci posted to his X account promoting his podcast, The Rest is Politics US, which he has been hosting since April with Katty Kay, a former BBC America journalist and author.
Roger Stone responded in the comments, writing: “That would be like people subscribing to a newsletter I wrote about Business. Why would anyone subscribe to you writing about a subject? You know nothing whatsoever about. PS when you need me to explain what “off the record” or “not for attribution” means give me a call.”
Stone appears to be referencing Scaramucci’s stint as White House Press Secretary in 2017, which lasted just 10 days. He was fired when the New Yorker published the details of a conversation he’d had with a reporter, in which he used profanities and insults against various members of the Trump administration. He later said he believed the conversation to have been off the record in “spirit.”
Scaramucci responded, saying: “When the dust settle let’s get dinner.”
Many followers found his response amusing. One top comment read, “I can’t believe that Anthony Scaramucci has become one of my favorite people.” Another read, “Maybe you could offer him some advice on the use of punctuation; specifically question marks.”
Stone does not appear to have responded so far. Both he and Scaramucci were contacted for comment outside of normal business hours. Newsweek will update this article with any response.
Stone has worked in conservative politics for over five decades, first serving the Nixon administration in 1972, according to the BBC.
He is now perhaps best known for working on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and for being pardoned by Trump in 2020 after he was convicted of lying to Congress and tampering with witnesses during the investigation into Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.
Stone now hosts The Stone Zone, a daily livestream where he discusses current affairs broadcast on Rumble.
Scaramucci’s podcast follows the success of The Rest is Politics UK, hosted by two political insiders from opposite parties.
The Rest is Politics US recently released a series on Trump’s rise to the White House in 2016.
